Tom Spann is CEO of Brightside and Founder and Vice Chair of Accolade.
Since May 2018, Tom has been CEO of Brightside, a comprehensive financial health engagement platform for employers. The company's behavioral-science-based, technology-enabled solution makes it easy for employees to do the right thing for their financial health while putting real money in their pockets. Employers benefit from improved employee engagement, productivity, improved retention, and reduced healthcare costs while providing a benefit employees love.
Under Tom's leadership Accolade became the country’s leading comprehensive consumer healthcare engagement platform for large businesses. The company’s behavioral-science-based, technology-enabled solution helps individuals and families get the right care and delivers consistently superior healthcare cost savings and consumer satisfaction results.
Under Tom's leadership, Accolade grew to 750-plus employees serving some of the nation’s largest self-insured employers and health plans. Accolade was recognized as one of the nation’s 25 Most Promising Companies by Forbes magazine and the fastest-growing private healthcare company by Inc. 500. Employees have consistently voted Accolade a top workplace in the Philadelphia region.
Prior to founding Accolade, Tom served as Senior Managing Partner at Accenture, where he led the North America Products Group, a 10,000-employee operating unit with $2-billion-plus-revenue, 50% of which was the Health and Life Sciences Operating Unit, serving leading health plans, providers and life sciences companies.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
