Stuart Sands is a Principal Systems Architect in the IoT Group, part of the Chief Digital Office at Kaiser Permanente, an integrated Healthcare firm. He has worked in the Enterprise Architecture, Health Plan, Innovation, and Corporate Services areas, creating devices and systems for the IoT, and producing architectures and guidance for a variety of business and IT-focused projects. Previously, Stuart worked in the Financial Services, Biotech, and electromagnetic research fields, creating unique fixed income mutual fund trading and management systems, and producing highly accurate computer models for predicting aircraft responses to lightning strikes. When not in the office, Stuart measures the quality of his summers by the number of nights spent in a sleeping bag. He is also actively involved in creating large scale, participatory art installations involving mechanical, musical, software, and fire elements.
