Sohaib Abbasi is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Informatica since March 2005. Sohaib joined Informatica in July 2004 as President and Chief Executive Officer and served in that role until August 2015. Under Sohaib's leadership, Informatica grew five-fold to $1 billion in revenue and became the world's number one independent leader in data integration software. Software revenue from new products introduced under Sohaib’s leadership grew by a 10-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 50% to expand beyond the traditional ETL category. As a result, Informatica became the number one independent leader in data integration, data quality, MDM and cloud data integration. In addition, international revenues grew by a 10-year CAGR of 19% through global expansion of field operations. Under Sohaib’s leadership, the number of employees grew four-fold to 3,700 and the number of customers grew three-fold to over 6,000.

Prior to Informatica, Sohaib served at Oracle Corporation for 20 years, most recently, as a Member of Oracle's Executive Committee and as Senior Vice President of two major divisions, Oracle Tools and Oracle Education. From 1994 to 2000, Shoaib was Senior Vice President of Oracle Tools Product Division. Sohaib joined Oracle in 1982, when it was a 30-person startup, and was instrumental in growing the business from $4 million to more than $9 billion in annual revenues. Sohaib envisioned and launched the Oracle Tools business, which he grew from zero to $3.75 billion in cumulative license revenues.

Sohaib graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1980, where he earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science.
