Serene Ow received her Masters’ in Electrical Engineering from Lund University, Sweden in 2005, on a Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) scholarship. She returned to serve in DSO National Laboratories as a research scientist and system engineer, leading a team in applied research, modelling and simulation and operations research for large scale complex systems. In 2013, she founded a social enterprise startup, before moving to Advanced Analytics consulting with Ernst and Young Advisory, where she helped companies and government agencies formulate and implement data analytics solutions for their business needs. In 2016, she joined Grab’s Data Science department as a Data Science Lead to build a new simulation team, solving and analysing challenging problems using data mining, modelling and simulation techniques.
