Scott Hilleboe has 17 years of experience investing in both cloud and consumer technology businesses pursuing disruptive opportunities in billion dollar markets. Scott specializes in helping entrepreneurs build game changing, market leading companies in emerging SaaS, consumer and enterprise marketplaces, digital media, and consumer tech.

Most recently Scott was a Partner at Revolution Growth, a firm he joined in 2012. He led or co-led investments in BigCommerce, CustomInk, Handy, SpareFoot, Scopely, Bedrock, and Sweetgreen. Scott was also instrumental in building and advising Resonate and FedBid (acquired by Compusearch). Scott currently serves on the boards of BigCommerce and SpareFoot.

Prior to joining Revolution, Scott was a Managing Director at Steamboat Ventures, where he led investments in EdgeCast (acquired by Verizon), Elemental (acquired by Amazon), Fastclick (IPO), Greystripe (acquired by ValueClick), Kyte (acquired by KIT Digital), MediaBank (acquired by Vista Equity), MerchantCircle (acquired by Reply.com), PopularMedia (acquired by StrongMail), and Quigo (acquired by AOL). Scott also co-led Steamboat’s investments in Baynote (acquired by Kibo), FreeWheel (acquired by Comcast), Iridigm (acquired by Qualcomm), and Sometrics (acquired by American Express). Scott worked closely with Pure Digital (acquired by Cisco), Move Networks (acquired by EchoStar), and Rosum (acquired by True Position).

Scott began his venture capital career at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, where he led investments in Jareva (acquired by Symantec), Yosemite Technologies (acquired by Barracuda Networks), Cenzic (acquired by Trustwave), and Voltage Security (acquired by HP).

Earlier in his career, Scott worked at IBM, LaSalle Partners, and Synopsys.

Scott graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude with a bachelors of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Scott grew up in Montana and currently lives in Marin County with his wife and two children.
