Ryosuke is the CEO and Managing Director of SBI Ven Capital, leading its business in South East Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. He has been with the SBI Group since 2009 and has been engaged in private equity investments in the South East Asia region since 2012. Through his career, he brings experience in private and public equity investments, as well as managerial and entrepreneurial expertise in digital media and financial service business.At SBI, he is in charge of over 10 companies primarily in digital and FinTech space, including companies such as Sendo from Vietnam, Jirnexu from Malaysia, and Mfine from India. He has also held directorships in various licensed financial service sectors such as banking, securities brokerage, asset management, and international remittance business across Asia and Europe.Before SBI, Ryosuke launched the Wall Street Journal Japanese language edition as the Managing Director of Wall Street Journal Japan. He was also part of the founding member of Dot Commodity, Inc., which was Japan’s largest online commodities brokerage platform at one time. He started his career in Dentsu, Japan’s largest advertising agency and had shifted to a Japanese hedge fund before receiving his MBA.Ryosuke holds a MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tokyo.
