Dr. Robert Shen, Managing Director of H&Q Asia Pacific Shanghai, is responsible for investments in the U.S. and Greater China. Dr. Shen has been with the firm since 2001, and brings over 30 years of high-technology industry experience. Prior to joining H&Q Asia Pacific, Dr. Shen was the Chief Technical Officer and General Manager at Lucent Microelectronics.

In late 1995, Dr. Shen founded Enable Semiconductor and three years later, spun off Enable's Mobile business to form NanoAmp Solutions and sold the rest of Enable to Lucent Technologies. Before founding Enable, Dr. Shen was the President of 8x8 Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT). Prior to that, Dr. Shen spent 6 years at VLSI Technology as ASIC General Manager. Dr. Shen began his career at Texas Instruments.

Dr. Shen received a Bachelor of Science degree from National Cheng-Kung University, a Master of Science degree from Marquette University, and a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University, all in Electrical Engineering.
