Reza Satchu is an entrepreneur, Managing Partner and Founder of Alignvest Management Corporation and Founding Chairman of NEXT Canada. Passionate about educating the next generation of entrepreneurs, Mr. Satchu also serves as a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School, where he teaches two courses: Launching Technology Ventures and The Entrepreneurial Manager.

NEXT Canada’s mission is to increase Canadian prosperity and accelerate the trajectory of Canada’s most promising entrepreneurs. As Founding Chairman, Mr. Satchu helped design various aspects of the NEXT Canada program, including admission criteria, curriculum and incubation plans and developed a 9 month intensive program that provided free education, mentorship and start-up funding to each entrepreneur.

A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Satchu has co-founded, built and managed several successful businesses from inception, including: SupplierMarket, a supply chain software company funded by Sequoia and KKR, that grew to 225 people with several Fortune 500 customers, prior to being sold to Ariba in 2000; StorageNow Holdings, which became Canada’s second largest self-storage company before being sold to InStorage REIT in 2007; KGS Alpha Capital Markets, a US fixed income broker dealer with over $10 billion in assets that was sold to Bank of Montreal in 2018; and most recently Alignvest Management Corporation, a private investment company focused on long term value creation.

Previously, Mr. Satchu spent 12 years in New York where he was a General Partner at Fenway Partners, a $1.5 billion private equity firm, and a Financial Analyst at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Satchu has received “Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™” Award (2007) and the Management Achievement Award from McGill University (2011).

The creator of University of Toronto’s most highly rated undergraduate course, Economics of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Satchu served as an Adjunct Professor at U of T for 7 years. He also served for ten years as a director at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, most recently as Vice Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Satchu has a BA from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
