Philip D. Green is President of PDG Consulting, LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care consulting firm. His clients include major academic medical centers, health care systems, community hospitals, individual physicians, group practices, physician associations, managed care enterprises, health insurers, lenders, and investors involved with health industry projects, equipment suppliers, clinical laboratories, manufacturers of drugs and devices, home health agencies, and various other health care-related enterprises. Mr. Green develops structures, negotiates, and implements innovative and strategic business ventures for his health care clients.

Since 1976, Mr. Green has represented clients in a variety of fields, including health industry mergers and acquisitions, corporate planning and transactions, and litigation. Before forming PDG Consulting, Mr. Green was Senior Vice President, UPMC, and President, Strategic Business Initiatives (SBI), of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Mr. Green was directly responsible for all of UPMC’s strategic partnerships and relationships with for-profit companies. SBI is responsible for bringing new concepts and emerging technologies to market. Before joining UPMC, Mr. Green was Of Counsel at the law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLC, a partner at the law firms of Gardner Carton & Douglas and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, and a founding principal at Green, Stewart, Farber & Anderson, P.C.

Mr. Green was born in Washington, D.C. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971, and his J.D. from the George Washington University in 1974.
