Peter Walker took up the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of thyssenkrupp Elevator AG on January 1, 2019. Walker was already a member of the Elevator Technology Board, having taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer on February 1, 2018.
Born in Sydney, Walker studied economics and electrical engineering and is an internationally experienced elevator expert. He joined the company in 1995 and was initially in charge of business in Australia and New Zealand, from 1997 as CEO. From 2003 he significantly expanded business in the Asia Pacific region and was appointed CEO of thyssenkrupp Elevator’s Asia/Pacific business unit in 2005.
