Patrick is a professor at the University of Basel and the leader of the quantum sensing group. He obtained his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2008 and moved to Harvard where he contributed to the early development of quantum sensing. In 2012 he established his group in Basel and soon received the prestigious SNSF starting grant. He is driven by a deep curiosity for scientific problems and the desire to develop tools that go beyond conventional limits and allow new exploration.
