Michael is the Director of Electronic Engineering at HAX. He is responsible for ensuring teams’ electronics are functional, safe, and efficient, and is also knowledgeable about firmware and embedded Linux.

Prior to HAX, he executed engineering in fields ranging from web applications to 3D printers to real-time computer vision. He is the designer of the 5-driver Smoothieboard, which is used in numerous 3D printers, laser cutters, mills and other miscellaneous CNC machines worldwide, including two HAX teams’ products: OpenTRONS and Wazer.
