Marcel van den Assum is the Former Chairman at GreenButton which was acquired by Microsoft in 2014. He is the Chairman of the Angel Association of New Zealand and serves on the boards of a number of companies including Flick Electric Co, MerlotAero, CropX and Voco.

He is also founding investor in LightningLab accelerator, an advisor to the Inland Revenue transformation and on the GlobalDay1 investment committee. Prior to his governance career, Marcel was an information services professional for over 25 years, both in New Zealand and overseas.

His most senior leadership positions have included Managing Principal in Unisys Corporation and CIO for Fonterra.
