Manny is Group Head and General Manager for Digital Media and Services at MTN, responsible for all digital products and services including video, music, gaming, lifestyle services and mobile advertising. He has an entrepreneurial background, with a focus on business strategy in the digital media space, and a bias towards the operationalising and execution of these strategies. He has a proven track record in start-ups and the establishment of new business divisions, including helping establish and building Discovery Health’s overall online presence and strategy in 2000. Manny has founded or helped establish a number of companies, including Spectrum Visual Networks, SA’s leading digital media distribution and display company and recipient of the Minister’s Award for Overall Technology Excellence, which was acquired by Primedia, and most recently Maboneng Broadband, a player in SA’s nascent FTTH market. He has held a number of top-level executive positions within the Primedia group, including being CTO and COO of Ster Kinekor Theatres and then Executive Head for Primedigital, Primedia’s digital businesses division. He has sat on the board of a number of companies, including Ster Kinekor and a number of digital media companies in Primedia.
