Mr. Kuntal Chowdhury is the Vice President of Marketing of Altiostar Networks. He has over 20 years of experience in the wireless industry. Before Altiostar, Mr. Chowdhury held Director of Strategy in Mobile Internet Technology Group and Director of Marketing positions at Cisco Systems. Prior to his stint at Cisco, Mr. Chowdhury held VP of Technology & Standards position at Starent Networks. In this role, he lead Starent’s engagement in various standards bodies such as 3GPP, IETF, 3GPP2 and telecom industry organizations such as WiMAX Forum, ATIS and NGMN. Mr. Chowdhury came to Starent from Nortel Networks where he was an Advisor in the product management group. In Nortel, Mr. Chowdhury lead the company’s engagement in 3GPP2 and TIA where he chaired and vice-chaired CDMA packet data groups. He authored and co-authored numerous IETF RFCs, 3GPP, WiMAX and 3GPP2 contributions that are part of LTE, WiMAX and CDMA standards. Mr. Chowdhury held systems engineering position at Nortel where he rolled out a number of large CDMA and GSM networks in US and Canada. Prior to Nortel, Mr. Chowdhury was a systems engineer at Motorola in the advanced messaging infrastructure group. Mr. Chowdhury holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIT Surat, India. He holds 48 US and international patents.
