Kiwoon Sung was the former Head of Blockchain Research Lab at Samsung SDS. He led the enterprise blockchain core technology research and development for Nexledger, the company's blockchain platform. Focused on high performance blockchain data processing algorithms, biometric-based authentication and interoperability for manufacturing, supply chain, banking, and logistics.

He received a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in the City of New York and was a Visiting Scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology. He has published more than 40+ patents and conference papers in the field of the blockchain technology, low-latency transport protocol, peer-to-peer real-time multimedia networking and processing systems, and distributed computing.
