John Markley, was elected to the board of directors of Charter on November 30, 2009.

Markley has served as the Managing Director for Bear Creek Capital Management (Bear Creek), an investment company in the communications media and technology industries, since February 2011.

Prior to Bear Creek, Markley served in a number of capacities at Columbia Capital Corporation, including as a partner, venture partner and portfolio company executive.

Prior to Columbia Capital, Markley served at the Federal Communications Commission where he developed U.S. Government wireless communications and spectrum auction policy. He has also held positions in corporate finance for Kidder, Peabody & Co. in both New York City and Hong Kong.

Markley is a director of BroadSoft, Inc., Millennial Media, Inc. and numerous private companies.

He received a B.A. degree from Washington and Lee University and a M.B.A. from Harvard University.
