Cathy Smith is the executive vice president of strategy and chief financial officer for Walmart International, a fast-growing segment of Walmart's overall operations, with more than 6,100 stores and more than 800,000 associates in 26 countries outside the United States. Cathy is responsible for accounting and control, business planning and analysis, cash management, tax, treasury, investor relations in markets with public listings, merger and acquisition support and other business decision support.

Cathy came to Walmart from GameStop, where she was executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to GameStop, she held executive vice president and chief financial officer roles at Centex Corp, a leading U.S. homebuilder, and Kennametal, a global industrial tool manufacturer.

Cathy is a member of the board of directors for Walmex, Walmart’s Mexico and Central America operations. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Walmart Foundation and serves on Walmart’s President's Global Council of Women Leaders.

Cathy earned a bachelor’s degree in business economics from the University of California and a master of business administration from the University of Southern California. She is also six sigma green belt certified. She and her husband, Ryan, have two sons.
