Brent McMahon-Panther was born in Port Elizabeth in the early eighties and received a B Tech Degree in design and communication as well as a diploma in Graphic Design from the Nelson Mandela University. His passion for design, retail and commerce started at an early age, with an interest in how cars, bikes and business are developed and designed to not only look good, but to withstand time and a consumer who wants everything new and now.

Known as a level-headed professional, Brent has over 15 years of experience in the highly competitive marketing and advertising industry in South Africa. He understands the importance of going the extra mile for a client and the importance of breathing life and passion into every project, be it big or small.

His design skills come from a need to understand the underlying process that make something work and then creatively incorporating solutions to the task at hand.

Brent believes in the power of collaboration and knows the importance of building lasting corporate relationships and growing with a brand. He believes in the need to get to know not only the client but the customer too, and in that way can provide a client with exactly what they asked for with added insight, flare and skill. As one of South Africa’s youngest creative directors, he worked on the blue chip accounts of notable brands like Vodacom, Telkom, Plascon, Nigerian Breweries and Edcon.

A passion for e-commerce and a need for change took him out of an agency life and comfort zone and, in 2018, as a friendship became a partnership, he co-founded his own media agency with brothers Aeryn and Ronan Quarmby. The business allowed Brent the freedom to be creative and to also apply his analytical side to solving marketing problems in the e-commerce arena to many brands and organisations.

This disruptive thinking process also resulted in the development of Xion Global and Xion Finance and the continued drive to evolve their entrepreneurial flair into the world of fintech and cryptocurrency. The team not only designed, created and developed the first-of-its-kind tech behind the decentralized payment and rewards gateway, but secured angel investors and a coveted investment from Swiss crypto investor, Crypto Valley Venture Capital (CV VC).

As Brent continuously evolves along with his various businesses and interests, he is looking forward to reinventing, redesigning and rethinking the way things look and work in the future and is constantly looking for new challenges and ways to make new business work in the new digital world.
