Bill Burns joined Zebra in 2015 and today leads the product & solutions group. In his role, Mr. Burns oversees product and solutions strategy, investments and development operations for the company’s expansive technology portfolio which includes mobile computing, specialty printers, data capture solutions, location solutions, and intelligent edge solutions. Mr. Burns is also responsible for the chief technology office - focused on emerging technologies and solution incubation. Mr. Burns has more than 25 years of experience in the high-tech sector. Prior to joining Zebra, he served as chief executive officer of Embrane, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital-backed startup, which was acquired by Cisco in April 2015. Prior to joining Embrane, Mr. Burns served as chief executive officer of Spirent Communications, a global leader in test and measurement solutions publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange. He has also held various executive and sales leadership roles at Tellabs, Inc., now Coriant. Mr. Burns holds a master’s degree in business administration from Temple University, a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Misericordia University, and an associate’s degree in engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
