Bill Burke was named Chief Integration Officer for the integration of Covidien into Medtronic in June 2015. He is responsible for ensuring the successful integration of the largest-ever medical technology acquisition in the industry’s history. Since the acquisition’s announcement in 2014, Bill has played a key role as principal operating officer for the Integration Management Office (IMO). He is a member of Medtronic’s Executive Committee.

Bill joined Medtronic from Covidien, where he spent more than 20 years in finance and business development leadership roles. Throughout his career, Bill has built a strong track record of successfully leading large organizations through complex changes and fostering strong teams that consistently execute. Most recently, Bill served as Chief Financial Officer for Covidien Europe based in Zurich, Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Portfolio Management, and Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis.


Previously, Bill also held key positions within Tyco Healthcare, including the Financial Controller of Valleylab, Managing Director of the Covidien Group in Switzerland, and International Controller. He began his career as an auditor with KPMG.


Bill received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I., graduating in 1990.
