Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bohr was born in Mannheim in 1956. He completed his studies of mechanical engineering in Aachen with a dissertation in the area of control engineering in 1983 and obtained a doctoral degree.

In 1983 he joined Robert Bosch GmbH, Reutlingen Plant, where he was active as head of production planning from 1986. In 1993, he became managing director for manufacturing at Nippon ABS Ltd., Tokyo, where he assumed worldwide responsibility for the company‘s automotive electronics division in 1996 and managed the development of ABS and Brakes division in 1998. In 1999, Dr. Bohr was appointed as member of the Management Board of Robert Bosch GmbH responsible for the Diesel Injection division with corporate responsibility for the region of Japan.

From 2003 to June 30, 2013 he was active as chairman of the vehicle technology division with responsibility for the worldwide automotive activities of the group.

Bohr is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG and member of the Advisory Board of Formel D GmbH.
