Aeryn, who grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, started his working career at an early age. By the time he was 18 he was managing the logistics of a small but hugely successful garage-based start up with his brother, Ronan.

This highly motivated e-commerce junkie has a skillset learnt on the job and fine-tuned in real-time. With extensive experience in marketing, brand awareness as well as logistics management, the youngest team member learnt on the go. Together with his brother Ronan, they grew and developed their online t-shirt company, which reached a global market, and achieved an impressive turnover of over $3 million in under 4 years.

Social media marketing and advertising, creative thinking and the ability to combine strong communication strategies and skills grew Aeryn’s entrepreneurial mind at a rapid pace. Combined with additional experience in funnel gateways and API integration & management, Aeryn learnt to manage, motivate and inspire multiple creative teams across the USA, China and the EU.

It was during this time that his passion for e-commerce & simplifying payment methods for online stores for small to medium sized enterprises started to grow. Finding solutions to making life as business owner more simple and rewarding became a passion, which partnered positively with a growing interest in crypto currency research and trading.

Partnering again with his brother Ronan and friend Brent McMahon-Panther, they took 3 years to conceptualise and develop a decentralized payments gateway that allows online businesses to accept multiple payment options, including cryptocurrency, skipping the scrutiny of traditional card payment providers.

The 3 were invited to complete a 3-month incubation programme in Switzerland and managed to secure a coveted investment from the Swiss crypto investor, Crypto Valley Venture Capital (CV VC) at the end of 2019.

Xion Global and its subsidiary Xion Finance is a 24 hour a day passion project for Aeryn, who serves as a core contributor from his London based offices.

In contrast with Aeryn’s fast-paced lifestyle and love of adrenalin and speed, he also keenly aware of the often catastrophic consequences of climate change and global warming. Aeryn tries to live an environmentally ethical life which translates into all of his business ventures and merges a keen awareness for conscious consumption, environmental issues and ethical living with his love for technology and using it to simplify his personal and business life, giving Aeryn the calm and clear mindset needed in the ever-evolving world of fintech.
