SCiFi Foods makes real meat with just a few cells, bioengineering technologies such as CRISPR, and leaves the rest of the cow in the field.
SCiFi Foods is a food technology company creating transformational products by combining cultivated meat with plant-based ingredients to make burgers shockingly close to the taste of conventional beef. Already, it has successfully grown beef cells in suspension, which at scale will reduce its cost of production by 1000x—a massive milestone. It was co-founded by CEO Joshua March, a serial entrepreneur with two prior exits, and CTO Kasia Gora, PhD., who has led R&D teams in bioengineering for more than a decade, most recently at Zymergen. To date, it has raised $29M from leading investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Valor Siren Ventures, BoxGroup, Entree Capital, and Prelude Ventures, amongst others.
